Romy Lee is a multidisciplinary Irish artist based between Cork, Ireland and Stuttgart, Germany. She is currently studying Fine Art at the State Academy of Art and Design Stuttgart. Romy concentrates on drawing, painting and site-specific installation.
Romy Lee‘s work deals with questions of origin, migration, linguistic and cultural identity. How are we shaped by collective or individual memory? How does multilingualism change our position in the world that surrounds us and our position to others in this world? How does it change our self-perception, way of thinking and identity? What connects us with others and how do we overcome parallels of similarities and unfamiliarity. How do we perceive borders, navigate them,
and walk through our daily life with inner boundaries, boundaries of body in space and society?
Romy has exhibited in various locations across Ireland, Germany and South Korea.
